Freelance Writers

Looking for a Freelance writer to write articles for a startup LGBTQ+ magazine, based in Atlanta but stories are written on a worldwide basis. This is a remote position. Responsibilities include writing articles on a project basis or freelance basis. Specific duties of a freelance writer include gathering information on project-specific areas, staying updated on grammar and project related aspects, writing small drafts, editing and proofreading the drafts, checking for conceptual or grammatical errors in drafts, working on articles prepared by other freelance writers if required, adhering to deadlines, working on special projects if suitable, getting written work approved by the chief editor, coordinating with editing manager and administrative staff, demonstrating excellent writing skills.

Ad Sales Associate

Commission based advertising sales position supporting OutLoud Magazine, a LGBTQ entertainment magazine designed to feature stories that are LGBTQ related. This is a startup magazine that will be serving the rapidly growing LGBTQ community. The Sales/Marketing Representative will be responsible for generating leads and meeting sales goals. 

The ideal candidate will possess a high energy level, outgoing personality, have anunderstanding of the sales process and dynamicsand be results oriented, with demonstrated success in advertising sales. (Experience in the magazine ad sector is a plus). 

This is a commission only based position only. Hours are flexible either part time or full time. Commission ranges from 20-25% on paid ad sales. 

Sales Representative Responsibilities:

  • Generating leads.
  • Cold calling 
  • Meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients.
  • Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports.
  • Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs.
  • Understanding and promoting company programs.
  • Setting up deposits and balance of payment arrangements with clients.
  • Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders.
  • Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services.
  • Maintaining client records.
  • Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices and availability.

Sales Representative Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics or related field or equivalent experience in sales/marketing.
  • Magazine advertising experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
  • A commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with clients.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to work comfortably in a startup company.

Forward thinking, start-up LGBTQ+ magazine is looking to hire an intern with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites. We currently redesigning our website, and will soon launch a social media campaign. The intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills in order to integrate into our vibrant and passionate team who are very excited to share this exciting launch with an intern hoping to gain a ton of great online experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

· Strong communication (oral, writing and presentation) skills
